Fabulous Mini-Golf in Los Angeles

1. Sherman Oaks Castle Park — Sherman Oaks

LA Parks and Recreation runs the highly visible and highly affordable Sherman Oaks Castle Park. This mini-golf in Los Angeles is a local favorite. Beyond the drawbridge gate and through the castle arcade lies a group of three 18-hole miniature golf courses, each with themed holes.

Birthday party packages are reasonably priced and include such goodies as food, mini-golf games, arcade privileges, use of the party area, and clean up.

2. Golf 'N' Stuff — Ventura & Norwood

The name says it all. This classic mini-golf amusement park in Ventura and Norwood offers an arcade, go-kart tracks, bumper boats, bumper cars, and plenty of that pizza you'd expect to find at a miniature golf course. Movie trivia buffs like the Norwood location, so they can putt in the same place The Karate Kid did. 

3. Arroyo Seco Golf Course — South Pasadena

Real golfing parents are not necessarily drawn to courses with arcades and pizza. They might want their kids to get a mini-golf experience that feels closer to the original game of golf. Arroyo Seco is a legit golf course that has a very pleasant and relatively quiet nine-hole mini-golf course without bells or whistles (though there is a mini windmill; there always has to be a mini windmill).

4. Golf Gardens — Catalina Island

Catalina Island has no shortage of activities, but if you're just hanging around Avalon for the day, check out Golf Gardens. Located in the center of town, this little putt-putt course is just a block from the beach. The year-round well-shaded course is simple and relatively stripped down from some of the wilder decorations you'd find at other mini-golf establishments — yes, we said there always has to be a windmill, but we'll make an exception in this case. 

5. MB2 Entertainment — Santa Clarita

MB2 is an all-in-one adventure park in Santa Clarita with mini-golf, go-karts, virtual reality games, laser tag, food, and drinks. The course is double the fun, with 36 holes adorned with lush decorations featuring waterfalls, caves, and caverns. After a long day of putting around, the bar and grill have all the classics like pizza, burgers, hot dogs, tacos, wings, and more.

6. Boomers — Irvine & City of Industry

Another all-under-one-roof entertainment capital, Boomers offers mini-golf plus a whole lot more. Go-karts, bumper boats, batting cages, and a rock wall could be things you miss on your way to the carnival, roller coasters, laser tag, and mini-golf. If you think you can bring kids here and have them just play a round of miniature golf, good luck.

7. Camelot Golfland — Anaheim

Look twice, and you might think you're looking at another very popular castle in Anaheim (we see you, Disneyland). The mini-golf course at Camelot features Spanish forts with shooting water cannons, and a jungle safari. It is Camelot, after all. And what would Camelot be without jousting? Laser jousting, that is. Luckily, after all that hard work, and laser-jousting, golfer knights can cool off on a water slide, just like Lancelot used to. 

8. Pelly’s Mini-Golf at the Del Mar Golf Center — Del Mar

If you're willing to drive down the coast a bit, Pelly's Mini-Golf at the Del Mar Golf Center is an enjoyable option. The course has a nautical theme, which is unsurprising considering its location just a few miles from the coast. There are two separate courses, "Surfin' Safari" and "Ocean Adventure," both of which will deliver hours of fun.

9. Mulligan Family Fun Center — Murietta

This one is worth the drive! What can you do at Mulligan's? The question is, what can't you do? You'll have to stay focused on only playing miniature golf, as it's nestled between laser tag, go-karts, paddle boats, a rock wall, an arcade, and batting cages (though we know other places with batting cages too). Mini-golf is available on two 18-hole courses, complete with water and sand traps.

10. Castle Park — Riverside

That's right, this is a completely different castle park from the one in Sherman Oaks. Castle Park in Riverside is chock full of entertainment, including rides, a water park, shows, an arcade, and more. If you're just interested in miniature golf, there are four separate 18-hole courses to choose from (or play them all!).

If your game extends into the evening, 4,700 lights that illuminate the beautifully decorated courses. It's also right next door to the beloved Buccaneer Cove Water Park, and you can purchase an all-access four-pack pass to both attractions.

11. Wonder of Dinosaurs — Redondo Beach

Dino-themed mini-golf is just one of the attractions at Wonder of Dinosaurs in the South Bay Galleria. Mini-golf is an add-on to the regular price of admission to the largest dino display on the west coast, but it only costs $2 a round. Unlike Jurassic Park, at Wonder of Dinosaurs, there's no risk of being eaten by a T-Rex while you try to sink that putt. 

12. GLO Mini Golf — Riverside

GLO is another indoor course located at a mall — in this case, it's the Tyler Galleria in Riverside. Yes, there's an added challenge to this mini-golf course, with 27 holes featuring glow-in-the-dark obstacles and hidden challenges. Plus, you have the option of adding 3D glasses. After golfing, there are other activities, like an arcade that features virtual reality games and an escape room.

13. Howl at the Moon GlowGolf — Garden Grove

Take a break from the water at Great Wolf Lodge and plunge into a game of glow-in-the-dark golf at Howl at the Moon GlowGolf. No, this isn't the famous piano bar that used to be at Universal Studios CityWalk. Instead, this is a kid-friendly course with black lighting and a foresty nature theme.

Unlike more expansive courses on this list, Howl at the Moon is only nine holes. It costs $7 a person to play, and note that you also need admission to the water park to play.

14. Los Angeles Pop-Up Mini-Golf

Not really interested in making a drive to play mini-golf? You can bring the course to you with Los Angeles Pop-Up Mini-Golf. They'll bring a nine-hole course right to you! The courses are customized, so if you're a pro at putting, they can make it more challenging. It's a great option for party rentals, though they'll set up their putt-putt course for just about any event. 

Now, For Something Completely Different — FootGolf in Los Angeles

Sure, it's not exactly mini-golf, but active kids will love playing soccer on a golf course, especially if you've already played rounds and rounds of mini-golf in Los Angeles at all the best courses. FootGolf is a hybrid of soccer and golf.

How do you play? Well, it's pretty self-explanatory. The rules are just like regular golf, except you're booting a soccer ball instead of teeing off and gently tapping it into oversized holes on the greens. Here are a few courses in Los Angeles that offer this unique new sport.

15. Arcadia Golf Course — Arcadia

Tee times at Arcadia Golf Course are from noon to 6pm daily. Bring your own soccer ball or rent one from the Pro Shop. This is the first 18-hole FootGolf course in the region. 

16. Lake Forest Golf Course — Lake Forest

If you're in Orange County, the Lake Forest Golf Course has FootGolf. You can choose between a nine-hole or 18-hole course. If you're not satisfied with your score, buy a replay for just $5. 

17. Lake Lindero Golf Course — Agoura Hills

On the other side of the metro area is Lake Lindero Golf Course. It's only $10 for adults to play a round and $7 for juniors (ages 16 and under).
