Mother's Day brunch is a cherished tradition for many families, including my own. While I'd be thrilled if my family whipped up one of these kid-friendly Mother's Day brunch recipes, I love to go out on Mother's Day and really be pampered. Lucky for me, there are tons of great restaurants in DC, Maryland, and Northern Virginia serving up a delicious brunch on Mother's Day 2025, which is Sunday, May 11.

Here are 17 of our top picks in and around DC for Mother's Day brunch with kids. We chose these places because they are especially suited to moms and families with children, whether they have special kids menus, buffet spreads the whole family will enjoy, or even kids' activities.

1. Teddy & The Bully Bar — Washington, DC

Come hungry to Mother's Day brunch at Teddy & The Bully Bar, where your family can enjoy endless stations of farm-fresh omelets, made-to-order waffles, applewood bacon, and home fries. This is on top of the three-course meal you'll also have! Moms can try a special Mother's Day cocktail, and kids can have one of three special mocktails.

2. DC Prime — Ashburn, VA

DC Prime is serving up an a la carte Mother's Day brunch with a menu that includes hearty entrees like homemade buttermilk biscuits with gravy, steak and eggs, a breakfast burger, and more. The kids menu offers chicken fingers with fries, mac and cheese, and skirt steak with fries. A variety of sides such as cheesy grits, applewood smoked bacon, and home fries are available, too.

3. Alexandra's American Fusion — Ellicott City, MD

This restaurant inside the Turf Valley Resort is offering a Mother's Day brunch with a variety of options to suit any taste, from breakfast favorites like French toast and made-to-order omelets to lunch options such as carved prime rib and miniature Maryland crab cakes. Picky kids might enjoy the chicken tenders with tots and the pasta station. Reservations are necessary, and every reservation requires a $50 deposit.

4. Founding Farmers Fishers & Bakers — Washington, DC

This restaurant on the Georgetown waterfront is known for its decadent weekend buffet brunch that includes all sorts of breakfast items, a carving station, seafood options, salads, desserts, and so much more. Enjoy Mother's Day brunch, then explore Georgetown Waterfront Park.

5. The Hamilton — Washington, DC

If your Mother's Day plans include the National Mall, this massive restaurant is a great pick for brunch—it's one of our favorite kid-friendly restaurants near the Mall. The Hamilton's weekend brunch menu includes plenty of breakfast items, like peanut butter pancakes and eggs Benedict, but also salads, steaks, sandwiches, and even sushi. There's a kids' menu for little ones, who'd also enjoy a milkshake—get a boozy version for Mom!

6. Eddie V's Prime Seafood — McLean

In addition to its regular dinner menu, Eddie V’s is offering a prix fixe two-course brunch menu on Mother’s Day. Begin with a starter of smoked salmon, Maine lobster bisque, or caesar salad, then enjoy a main course of lobster quiche florentine, pan-seared steak and frittata, or chilled colossal crab and avocado toast, all alongside warm apple cinnamon scones. A la carte dinner options and a dedicated children’s brunch menu are also available.

7. The Ritz-Carlton, Tysons Corner — McLean, VA

Dig into a luxurious Mother's Day brunch buffet at the Ritz-Carlton. It's pricey, but it includes a dedicated children's entertainment area, as well as a Portrait Station with a photographer to take special photos. Reservations are required, and an automatic deposit of $75 will apply.

8. Alhambra Restaurant — Washington, DC

If you want an upscale experience without the upscale price tag, this modern Mediterranean restaurant inside the St. Regis DC is your spot. Kids will enjoy breakfast classics such as pancakes, Belgian waffles, and eggs. Adults might want to try Mediterranean favorites like lamb kofta scramble and roasted eggplant shakshuka. It's all served a la carte.

Budget-Friendly Mother’s Day Brunches in DC

10. Lincoln — Washington, DC

This downtown restaurant is serving up a three-course Mother's Day brunch that also includes an unlimited buffet of Belgian waffles, omelets, bacon, hash browns, and other sides. You'll also get warm sticky buns for the table—yum! While it's not exactly cheap—$70 for adults and $30 for kids ages 6-12—children 5 and under are free, making this an affordable option for families with young kids. Reservations are recommended.

11. Georgia Brown's — Washington, DC

This elegant southern restaurant just a couple of blocks from the White House serves a Sunday brunch buffet complete with live jazz music. It's $60 per adult, $25 per child ages 6-13, and free for kids 5 and under, meaning families with little ones will get a lot of bang for their buck. Enjoy a waffle station, an omelet and scramble bar, prime rib, fried chicken, and anything else you can eat for two hours. Non-alcoholic beverages are included in the price.

12. Twin Arch Tavern — Mount Airy, MD

This casual spot is offering its regular, affordable brunch menu on Mother's Day 2025. Families can enjoy classics like Belgian waffles, biscuits and gravy, and pancakes, but moms may want something a little more special such as mimosa French toast or shrimp and grits. Kids can have mini pancakes, French toast, or scrambled eggs with their choice of breakfast meat for under $10.

13. Magnolias at the Mill — Purcellville

This contemporary American restaurant within a restored grain mill is serving a Mother's Day brunch buffet featuring carving and omelet stations, salmon, sausage gravy, shrimp and grits, and lots more. There are also plenty of dessert options to satisfy Mom's sweet tooth. Kids 3 and under are free!

14. Mother's Day Premier Brunch Cruise

Wanna get super-fancy and splurge for Mother's Day? Take a two-hour cruise on the Potomac River and enjoy bottomless mimosas, a yummy brunch buffet, and a DJ. The cruise begins boarding at 9:15am at Pier 4, and lasts from 10am-12pm. Semi-formal dress is required. Purchase tickets ahead of time.

15. Stable — Washington, DC

How about some Mother's Day cheese fondue in a restaurant reminiscent of a Swiss chalet? The banana craffle—a homemade croissant waffle with bananas, caramel sauce, and whipped cream—is one of the other unique brunch items at Stable. But don't worry—there's also eggs any style, French toast, soft pretzels, and other kid-friendly items on the brunch menu!

16. Palette 22 — Arlington, VA

Have brunch at this unique Shirlington restaurant resembling an artist's loft, with colorful art for sale all over its walls. Watch artists paint and sculpt while you enjoy a tapas-style menu featuring globally inspired dishes like curry chicken empanadas, French toast sticks, and shrimp and grits. If everyone is hungry, go for the bottomless brunch: For one price, you can order as many dishes as you'd like! Kids will especially enjoy the waffle bar and the pepperoni pizza.

17. Royal Sands Social Club — Washington, DC

Royal Sands is decorated to look like a swimming pool, complete with tropical decor, blue-tile mosaics, porthole-shaped windows, cabana-like booths, lifeguard stands, and "changing rooms"—bathrooms, that is. The brunch menu includes breakfast favorites like chocolate chip pancakes, lunch items such as chicken tenders. The restaurant is located right across the street from Nationals Park, and the Nats play a 1:35pm game on Mother's Day 2025, so families can enjoy brunch and a ballgame!
