Here’s how it works: from Sunday, April 27 to Saturday, May 10, bring any unwanted car seats (boosters, bases, infant, toddler – any and all of 'em, including expired seats) to your local Target store for its trade-in event and receive 20 percent off one car seat, stroller, or select baby gear. The 20% discount can be applied to both in-store and online purchases and is valid from April 27 through May 10, 2025; the discount can even be redeemed twice!
Simply bring your used car seat to a drop-off box located near Guest Services, scan the code on the drop-off box, and the discount will appear in your Target Wallet App.
It’s a win-win for parents and the environment. Materials from the old car seats are recycled by Target’s partners into new things such as pallets, plastic buckets, and construction materials. Since 2016, Target has recycled over 2.6 million car seats, or more than 50 million pounds of plastic—and counting.
