Gloria Molina Grand Park's Downtown Día De Los Muertos
- see all dates
Gloria Molina Grand Park pays tribute to the cultural tradition of Día de los Muertos with a 2-week public art installation.
Highlights of 2024's event include opening day festivities, a parade, and closing festivities with a film screening.
The annual Grand Park’s Downtown Día de los Muertos honors people, places and ideas that merit reverence and commemoration through free, family-friendly programming.
Park-goers can contribute to a community altar and stroll through the park to view 20 altars made by professional artists, local organizations and community partners.
Special events:
Opening Day festivities include Discover Latino Poetry: Places We Call Home (poetry and musical performances), family-friendly art activities, face painting, and giveaways. (Opening Day coincides with Grand Avenue Arts: All Access.)
The Inaugural Los Angeles Día De Los Muertos Parade & Festival is held on Sunday, October 20. The festival runs 2pm to 10pm; the parade starts at 7pm.
Closing activities on November 2 include an outdoor film screening in collaboration with GuadaLAjara Film Festival starting at 7pm.
