The city of Manhattan Beach holds its annual Pumpkin Race on the pier. Families are encouraged to attend in costume and create their own crazy pumpkin race cars at the pier's colorful Pumpkin Race Land.

Racing pumpkins can be purchased at the event while supplies last.

Prizes are given in various different categories - though watching and cheering is just as much fun as winning.

The festival starts at noon; races commence at 2pm.

Need a Pumpkin Racer? The Official City of Manhattan Beach World Famous Pumpkin Racer Kits are available for purchase starting October 5 at the Hometown Fair. There after, kits are available at Manhattan Beach City Hall, in the Parks and Recreation Department (1400 Highland Avenue, Manhattan Beach, CA 90266) while supplies last. Kits are $35 before the event and $40 on the day of the event.
