In this one-hour session, participants will discover the what, where, when, and why of decomposition while getting an up-close look at the organisms that power nature’s recycling system. From hungry fungi to slimy slugs and wiggly worms—some of which will be alive—this experience is designed to spark curiosity and wonder.

The world is full of rot—an essential process that breaks down once-living materials and keeps the planet livable. Environmental educator Britt Crow-Miller leads an engaging, hands-on exploration of this fascinating topic through her book, World of Rot (Storey Publishing, 2024).

Open to kids ages 8–12 with at least one adult caregiver. Space is limited to 24 participants.
