Día de los Niños/Children’s Day

- see all dates
The LA Zoo celebrates our favorite little creatures, with a weekend celebrating Día de los Niños/Children’s Day.
Special activities include bilingual storytimes with guest readers, cultural performances and art projects. Plus, select zoo animals get in on the fun with specially constructed piñatas.
Self Help Graphics demonstrates the art of screenprinting on posters; guests can bring their own t-shirt* to have it screen-printed as well. Additional craft projects include an Axolotl mask craft.
Other fun includes live performances by Danza Azteca Xinantecat, animal enrichment presentations and education stations. Stuffed animals visiting the zoo can get an imaginary veterinary check at the Plushie Clinic.
Guests are invited to Pronghorn Plaza to take part in an observation activity for a nice surprise (while supplies last) to learn about this endangered species whose native range includes Baja California.
*For the best results, light or white cotton or cotton blend T-shirts are recommended. Avoid 100 percent polyester and dark colors.
