Free Fun Friday: Rain Dates and Indoor Halloween Weekend Events
I know that the Washington Market Park Halloween Parade and Party has been postponed from Saturday and will now be on Sunday, October 26 from 3-5pm. Also The Fort Greene Park Halloween Festival and the Halloween Festival at Fort Trotten Park (both of which sound like lots of fun) will both be postponed to Sunday. Please try to call ahead to any events you might be going to on Saturday and make sure it wasn't canceled or postponed.
But don't let the rain dampen your Halloween Weekend spirit. Here are our picks for indoor activities for Saturday, October 25th, 2008. Click on the links below for more information about each event.

Day of the Dead Celebration at The Metropolitan Museum of Art — Workshops, tours and music to celebrate Day of the Dead. Activities will be Bilingual English/Spanish. Reservations are suggested. Free with suggested donation admission to museum.
Halloween Open House at Turtle Bay Music School — Families are invited to dress up in costumes for a unique Halloween event featuring “meet-the-instrument” trick-or-treating, pumpkin decorating and other crafts, musical activities for children, and interactive Brazilian dance and drumming for families. RSVP recommended.
Puppetry Arts Theatre Haunted Halloween Carnival — Let's see, a free, fun indoor carnival in Brooklyn on a rainy Halloween Weekend. My magic 8 ball says this will be mobbed, but if you feel like braving it, go early. The first 200 kids will get trick or treat bags with $50 worth of prizes. $1 Games, activities and snacks, $2 Haunted Lab and $3 for the Bounce House.
Family Fun Time — Halloween stories and crafts at the 67th St Library. Preregistration suggested.
FREE Family Day at the Whitney — Kids and their parents are invited to discover Calder’s Circus through hands-on art-making activities, performance, and live music.
Greening the City at the Skyscraper Museum — Kids will work together to investigate how to make our cities healthy and sustainable. Kids will model green building and green city planning, giving them a hands-on understanding of sustainable design. Suggested Donation.
