About Virginia's Upcoming Kalahari Resort and Water Park 

The new $900 million Kalahari Resort broke ground on October 20, 2023. Spread out over 1.38 million square feet, it will be located off I-95 at 6109 Patriot Highway in Woodford, Virginia. Like the other Kalahari locations, the resort will be Africa-themed.

“We are incredibly excited to bring our unmatched resort experience to Virginia,” said Todd Nelson, president and owner of Kalahari Resorts and Conventions. “Our goal is to provide families with an all-under-one-roof getaway unlike any other with something for everyone to enjoy.”

Kalahari Resort Virginia's 175,000-square-foot water park will feature plenty of thrilling water slides.

Amenities at the New Kalahari Resort Virginia

1. Water Park

Kalahari Resort's Virginia location will feature a 175,000-square-foot indoor water park, already being touted as the state's largest indoor water park. The water park will feature thrilling water slides, a massive wave pool, dedicated children's areas, and a surfing simulator. During the warmer months, guests will also be able to enjoy 10 acres of outdoor pools.

2. Tom Foolerys Adventure Park

This 90,000-square-foot family entertainment center will include thrill rides, a ropes course, climbing walls, bowling, laser tag, an indoor zip line, and over 250 arcade games.

Kids can create a new friend at Build-A-Bear Workshop.

3. Dining and Retail

Kalahari Resort Virginia's 12 on-site food and beverage outlets will include a buffet, a steakhouse, Tex-Mex and Italian restaurants, a burger joint, a coffee shop, and more. Inspired by the shops of Marrakesh, Marrakesh Market will include mini storefronts selling to-go food, souvenirs, and art. Kids will also love the on-site Build-A-Bear Workshop.

4. Rooms and Suites

The new Kalahari Resort will have 907 guest rooms and suites. Suites will feature one, two, or three bedrooms to fit a variety of families. All rooms and suites will include a microwave, a refrigerator, a TV, free Wi-Fi, an iron and ironing board, a safe, a hair dryer, and luxurious bath amenities.

5. Other Amenities

Kalahari Resort Virginia will also be home to a convention center, a state-of-the-art fitness center, and the full-service Spa Kalahari.
