PECO Family Jams: Memory Tiles
PMG creator Isaiah Zagar often treats his mosaics like a journal. Even in large public murals, Isaiah uses text and images to share dreams, memories, fantasies, loves, losses, and happenings in his community and his life. We explore what it means to lose public art like this in our current exhibition Lost Landscapes: The “Skin of the Bride” mural by Isaiah Zagar. Visitors are invited to decorate a tile for themselves, inspired by their own experiences. We will also have a postcard writing station where visitors can share their hopes and dreams for artwork in the city.
Learn how PMG’s Preservation Team works to maintain Isaiah’s public work during free tours of our fully mosaicked basement at 12:30, 1:30, 2:30, and 3:30 pm.
PECO Family Jams are PMG’s family-oriented programs, held on the second Sunday of every month between noon and 4:00 pm. Crafts and basement tours are included with regular admission to PMG. Purchase your regular admission tickets in advance.
