Before the arrival of rope making factories, rope was made by twisting fibers together with simple machines and hand techniques. This workshop explores the history of rope making, and provides hands-on activities, including making hand cordage and a length of rope using a reproduction winding machine.

This workshop is geared toward adults and participants ages 7 and older.
