Make Music New York
Make Music New York puts the beat under city feet as musicians of diverse backgrounds, ethnicities, ages, sexual orientations, physical capabilities, and skill levels represent New York City’s remarkable creativity and diversity.
Folk Music Society of New York (FMSNY) is organizing singarounds across NYC. All singers and instrumentalists are encouraged to join the circle and share songs with the Society’s regulars, from 5-10pm.
- In Brooklyn, Susan Bady and Gary Goodenough host a session in Mount Prospect Park.
- In Manhattan, Heather Wood, Evvy Mayer and Chris Davis host a session in the beautiful Ring Garden in Inwood.
- In Queens, join the Sunnyside Folk Club for a session at Sanger Hall, an Irish-American pub in Sunnyside, hosted by Donie Carroll and Steve Suffett.
Sessions great for kids include:
11am: From the Statue of Liberty to the Barrio: A Musical Tour of NYC, Ozone Park Library, 92-24 Rockaway Boulevard, Queens
2pm: The Rock a Silly Band, 274 15th Street, Brooklyn
3pm: Alina & Kiara, 129 Stanton, Manhattan
6pm: The Rock a Silly Band, Westerleigh Park, Staten Island
