Long Island Children's Museum Celebrates Carnival
- see all dates
The Long Island Children's Museum celebrates the rich culture of Carnival with a multi-sensory, two-day celebration, complete with music, dancing, food, crafts and more.
Carnival is a vibrant holiday celebrated in countries around the world; with each country’s festivities offering a unique glimpse of its culture. Lively music and dance, parades, face painting and delicious food unites them all.
During the festive weekend, visitors will enjoy a multi-sensory celebration, where they can:
- Experience a kaleidoscope of colors, music, dance and food.
- Decorate a parade float fit for a Carnival king and queen.
- Sample the sweet and savory flavors of the holiday.
- Create Carnival-themed crafts to take home as souvenirs.
- Watch stunning dancers, towering stilt walkers and rhythmic drummers.
Performances will take place each day at 12:30 and 2:30pm. A Carnival king and queen will be selected to lead Museum-wide parades each day featuring floats made by visitors. All Carnival activities and performances are included with LICM admission. The Carnival celebration at Long Island Children’s Museum is sponsored by NY State Assemblymember Michaelle Solages, District 22.
