Cinco De Mayo Celebration at Children's Museum Houston
Celebrate Mexican culture and our neighbors to the south on this special day with music, crafts and activities.
WHATS HAPPENING
Carscarones: Learn how to make your own cascarones—colorful confetti-filled eggs—then join in the custom of cracking the eggs over someone's head which symbolizes joy and good luck, honoring the joyful spirit of Cinco de Mayo and the historic Battle of Puebla.
Limit 15 participants each session ages 5+. Sign up at Kaleidoscope; sign ups open one hour before each workshop

The Aztec Princess by Express Children’s Theater: Join the Aztec Princess as she tells two classic fables about making good choices and stranger danger while teaching English and Spanish vocabulary along the way.

Joy Goes to Mexico by Young Audiences: Author/Illustrator Joy Saxton brings the adventurous story of Jose and his dog Coco to life through magic tricks, a giant book, puppets, and audience participation, fostering imagination, creativity and cultural understanding.

Las Americas Ballet Folklorico: Come watch Las Americas Ballet Folklorico perform vibrant dances in celebration of Cinco de Mayo! This Houston-based dance group is dedicated to honoring Hispanic culture through the beauty and tradition of dance.
