1. Baby Dolls Boutique—Lakeview

Baby Dolls Boutique has something for babies, big kids, and parents. You can find their own label, Pink & Blue, which features beautiful hand-made clothing at affordable prices. They also have a fun book collection, great baby items, gifts for new parents, and hand-crafted special occasion outfits for babies and children. The store supports the itty bitty project, an initiative that supports the production of clothing that helps preemies maintain their body temperature. Sign up for the email list for special deals and promotions and shop online or shop in-store at their Southport Corridor location. Street parking may be limited.

2. Twinkle Twinkle Little One—Roscoe Village and Highland Park

Twinkle Twinkle Little One has a Chicago location in Roscoe Village as well as another shop in Highland Park. This sweet baby and children’s boutique features gear, nursery décor, furniture, bedding, blankets, and more to help new parents get ready for baby. They also have a registry to make gifting easier for family and friends. If you’re looking for a registry that isn’t at a big-box or online store, consider this cute baby boutique. They also specialize in personalizations and monograms on everything from baby blankets to jackets, and they offer free set up of a new stroller or installation of a car seat by appointment. 

3. Monica + Andy—Lincoln Park and inside Prentice Women's Hospital (Streeterville)

Monica + Andy is known for their beautiful organic baby clothing. They also have children’s clothing up to size 10. In addition to their super soft, organic clothes, you’ll also find great children’s gifts, nursery items, décor, gift sets, and special items for moms. Many of their clothing items can also be embroidered. Shop online or in-store at their Lincoln Park location. The store also has a location inside Prentice Women's Hospital, so you can shop before you even leave the hospital with your baby. Go back to the shop for classes from infant CPR to mommy and me music.

4. Cloud & Bunny—Ravenswood

Babies don't stay in the same clothes for very long, so buying on consignment can be smart for parents on a budget. Cloud & Bunny sells lots of cute new and consigned clothes, and donates proceeds or unsold clothes to Cradles to Crayons, Heartland Alliance and Refugee One.  Find lots of cute clothes, toys, accessories, and gifts at this little shop in Ravenswood or shop online for the latest finds. The shop also makes custom gift boxes if you can't think of just one perfect gift for a new parent.

5. Kickin'—Roscoe Village

Looking to shop for both mom and baby? This Roscoe Village boutique has the best of both maternity and nursing clothes and high-end baby wear. Stylish maternity gear can be hard to find, but it's all here, along with the cutest onesies, pajamas, and tops and bottoms for your newborn. You can also find mom and baby skincare products to help relieve stretchmarks and keep your baby safe and protected from the sun. Events at the store help you connect with other new moms.

6. Sandbox Baby Boutique—Andersonville

Sandbox was opened in 2021 and focuses mainly on women-owned and sustainable baby brands. Find the cutest seasonal dresses, onesies, pajamas, tops and bottoms, and shoes in this Andersonville baby hub. Be sure to follow the store's Instagram and sign up for its newsletter for the latest sales and deals and events.

7. The Red Balloon—Bucktown

The Red Balloon is a local treasure. This unique baby and children’s store has so many playful, fun items and gifts for babies and children. Many of their toys, books, and clothing items are also Chicago-themed. This is a great shop for new parents and baby gifts. Because they are so well-known for gifts, you can also have your items gift-wrapped for free. They have lots of fun personalized items like initial t-shirts, sunglasses, and alphabet pillows and blankets with your baby's monogram. Find baby clothes, toys, gear, and books in-store at their Bucktown location or online. Street parking may be limited in this popular neighborhood.

8. Kido—South Loop

Kido is an adorable, diverse kids’ boutique located in the Roosevelt Collection Shops. They have a beautiful collection of inclusive books, sustainable toys, gifts, handmade items, clothing, and more for babies and children.  You’ll also find a great selection of Chicago baby items including Chicago-themed swaddles, onesies, and books. The store sometimes hosts in-store events, or you can find them participating in or sponsoring local inclusive family events. Shop their store in the South Loop or online for baby items and gifts sent directly to your home.  The location in the Roosevelt Collection shops also offers access to more nearby stores like Old Navy and H&M, or you can visit the Play Street Museum with big siblings.

Galt Baby is known for their baby gear. From strollers to cribs, car seats, and sleepers, Galt baby always has the latest baby items, but doesn't specialize in clothing. This a great place to actually touch and try out strollers, car seats, and furniture. Plus, it's been locally owned for more than 40 years. They also have a gift registry to make gift-giving easier for family and friends. Shop online or at their Michigan Avenue or Northbrook locations.

10. My Sister Kate—Hinsdale

This cute boutique in downtown Hinsdale has a great selection of baby clothes and toys. There's lots of high-style brands from all over the world, and the shop gets new items in every week. 11. Sugarcup Trading—Oak Park

Sugarcup Trading gives back to organizations from Hepzhibah Children's Organization to WonderWorks Children's Museum and has new items arriving all the time! You can find dozens of cute baby brands from ali+oli to Zubels at this near north suburban baby and kids store. Upscale baby clothes and toys abound, plus you can find accessories, books, and bath needs for your new little one. Founded by a local mom, this store offers a loyalty program that helps you get discounts on baby goods and free shipping on online orders over $100.
