Featuring songs by Lin Manuel Miranda, Moana Jr. celebrates the cultural history of the people from islands all over Oceania. This story exhibits themes of finding your courage, trusting your heart and transformative acts of selflessness.

Based on the beliefs and cultures of real people from the islands that make up Polynesia and greater Oceania, Moana's story follows a strong-willed future chief with a special connection to the ocean as she sets sail across the Pacific to save her village and discover the truth about her ancestors. Alongside the fabled demigod, Maui, Moana must face her biggest fears to save her home island of Motunui from a desperate food shortage, believed to be caused by the wrath of Te Kā, a demon of earth and fire. Finding the courage to face all the challenges and learning to navigate the ocean by reading the stars, like her Wayfinder ancestors, Moana proves to herself and her village that she can do anything and lead her people with pride.
