NJ's Best Indoor Amusement Parks for Family Fun
1. iPlay America – Freehold
Designed like an indoor boardwalk, iPlay America truly has fun attractions for all ages. Test out your golfing skills at the Topgolf Swing Suite, challenge the kids to a two-story laser tag game, or shoot foam balls at friends in a three-level maze of obstacles. There’s also an arcade, boardwalk games, and amusement rides for all ages. And when you’re ready for a break, treat yourself to some boardwalk snacks or a meal at a sit-down restaurant. Note that many attractions are priced separately so take a peek at the packages and all-inclusive wristbands to save a little money.
2. Nickelodeon Universe – East Rutherford
Head to the American Dream Mall and get ready to experience the largest indoor amusement park in the Western Hemisphere. There are plenty of rides for little ones (minimum height 36”) like flying Blue and Magenta from Blue’s Clues, Blaze Monster Truck Rally, Guppy Bubbler, Zuma’s Zoomers from Paw Patrol, and more. Older kids will love the faster rides like Sandy’s Blasting Bronco roller coaster and the Skyline Scream. Hang around the Slime Stage and you might see Dora, Blue, Spongebob, or the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.
3. The Funplex – East Hanover, Mount Laurel
If you’re looking for a play center where you can spend the entire day, Funplex is it. Come in the summer months to enjoy the outdoor water park with pools, slides, a lazy river, splash areas, and other attractions. Inside the arena, you’ll find bowling, rides, arcade games, bumper cars, laser tag, and more. There are even go-karts to race against a friend. Kids 36”-54” can be passengers, but you need to be 14 years old and taller than 54” to drive.

4. Rock ’n Air – East Brunswick
This facility is perfect for active kids and pre-teens with trampolines, rock climbing walls, a play maze, laser tag, a zip line, and ropes courses. There are several unique, interactive features incorporated throughout the enormous arena. Parents will love the modern and comfy sitting areas. The cafe has several options for meals and snacks. There’s also a special toddler zone where little ones can bounce and climb in their own space.
5. Big Kahuna’s – West Berlin
For a wet and wild indoor adventure, Big Kahuna’s has slides, rafts, and splash areas that are perfect for toddlers through pre-teens. When you’re ready to dry off, there’s an arcade with classic games and ticket redemption. Buy tickets online to save on day passes and look for weekday and late-day entry deals.
6. Supercharged Entertainment – Edison
If you’re looking to occupy teens or tweens, Supercharged Entertainment is a great option. This enormous 131,000-square-foot entertainment center has a multi-level go-karting track, luxury ax throwing, arcades, and VR games. Make a night of it and grab a bite at the on-site sit-down restaurant. Note that for karting, drivers must be 58” and 15 years old.
7. Funzilla — Delran
Funzilla packs in the fun with tons of attractions for toddlers through teens. Bounce on the trampolines, get lost in a free-roam VR arena (age 6 and older), play laser tag, dive into the foam pit, and climb the rock climbing walls. There’s also an enormous three-story obstacle course, a volcano slide, and an arcade. Little ones can enjoy a soft play toddler zone and there’s toddler time on Sunday mornings. Sensory-friendly jump is every Saturday morning.
8. Planet Playskool – Paramus
Planet Playskool at Garden State Plaza Mall isn’t an indoor amusement park in the traditional sense, but the facility has lots of Hasbro-inspired activities for little ones. Crawl and climb through the Mouse Trap Cheese Run and work on some STEM activities along the way. Try multi-sensory play in the Play-Doh Imagination Station, or climb through Hero City with a PJ Masks-inspired activity area. Build cars and race them through Tinkertoy Tracks. Tap into your inner artist at the Spirograph Art Studio. Lots of tech and science activities are incorporated throughout this creative play space.
9. Sky Zone – Multiple Locations
Jump, soar, and leap in this enormous bounce-filled arena. Sky Zone has grids of trampolines, a warrior course, jousting, and more. Little ones can bounce in the toddler zone.
