The Frost Science STEM Challenge is an engineering design challenge for middle and high school students. As part of this challenge, students create a model and presentation which proposes a solution to a current science issue. Student projects will be judged virtually and in-person during a two-round judging process.

Student projects that have passed the first round of judging will be invited to attend the STEM Challenge Expo at Frost Science. During this event, students will present their projects to a panel of judges and to museum guests.

The STEM Challenge Expo will also feature exhibitors. In addition to STEM Challenge student projects, students from Florida Coastal Everglades Long Term Ecological Research and the FIU Institute of Environment will be showcasing their art and science projects. Each project showcase will include student research projects and an associated art piece.

  • Museum admission is not required to attend the STEM Challenge Expo.
  • This is a free event held in the Hsiao Family Special Exhibition Gallery on the first floor of the museum.
  • This event does not include museum admission.
