LA Arboretum & Botanic Garden
The LA Arboretum & Botanic Garden is a unique 127-acre botanical garden and historical site located in what was the heart of the historic Rancho Santa Anita in the city of Arcadia. A 501(c)(3) nonprofit, the Arboretum's mission is to cultivate natural, horticultural, and historic resources for learning, enjoyment, and inspiration.
The garden is home to beautiful plants including rare and endangered species from all over the world. In addition to plants, the Arboretum hosts historical landmarks that feature Native American, Rancho Period, and late 19th century treasures like the famous Victorian Queen Anne Cottage, Santa Anita Train Depot, and Reid-Baldwin Adobe. A walk through the garden takes you past lakes and wildlife ponds, a stunning waterfall, and inclines with sweeping views of the San Gabriel mountains. A wonderful place for bird watching, the garden also houses hundreds of wild peacocks who roam the grounds freely. The Arboretum offers a variety of youth and family programs that air to connect people to the natural world through joyful, educational experiences.
