Based on the book by Calvin Alexander Ramsey, Ruth and the Green Book features eight-year-old Ruth and her family and their experience traveling from Chicago to Alabama in the 1950s during the Jim Crow South. The Big Green Book was an indispensable guide for Ruth’s family and many others to find a safe, welcoming route to travel through segregated America. 

Kids can also make their own Traveling Teddy Tabletop puppet in the Create-a-Puppet Workshop after the show
