Acworth MLK Celebration and Day of Service
On MLK Day everyone is invited to a day full of events in Acworth including a welcome breakfast, unity walk, program honoring Dr. King and a service project.
Schedule of events:
8:30 am – 9:15 am: Morning Reception Breakfast at the Roberts School Community & Education Center (4681 School Street Acworth, GA 30101)
9:15 am – 10:00 am: Unity Walk (Roberts School to Acworth Community Center 4361 Cherokee Street Acworth, GA 30101)
10:00 am – 11:00 am: MLK Day of Service Ceremony at Tanyard Creek Overlook
11:30 am: Community Service Projects – 2 Service Projects
Donation drive to support Mostly Mutts Animal Rescue (Mostly Mutts’ list of donation needs are attached). The community is welcome to donate items to support Mostly Mutts starting now and leading up to the MLK Day of Service event. Donations can be left at the Acworth Community Center. Volunteers can also sign up to volunteer at Mostly Mutts on Monday, January 20, after the MLK Program concludes.
The second volunteer opportunity available to sign up for will be at Acworth Presbyterian Church to help paint their Fellowship Room and Choir Room.
